今日吃瓜 undergraduate students can request to join the Accelerated Master of Science Programs to start earning credits towards their master鈥檚 while pursuing their undergraduate degree. To apply for the program the student must have completed a minimum of 90 credits with a minimum CGPA requirement of 3.5 or above.
Students wishing to apply for the Accelerated Master of Science Programs must submit the application with the office of the Registrar. This request must be approved by the scholarship office or the external sponsor of the student (if applicable), the student鈥檚 advisor, the department chair of the student鈥檚 major and the college dean or designee for both the undergraduate and graduate studies.
Students admitted on the program may complete at most 6 credit hours of Master鈥檚 level graduate courses (e.g. two 3-credit 600 level courses) as undergraduate technical electives. These courses may be 鈥渄ual-counted鈥 for both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. The selected Master鈥檚 level courses are typically from the core courses of the intended master鈥檚 degree program.
Grades of B or better in the graduate courses as well as maintaining a minimum undergraduate CGPA of 3.5 are required for the dual-counted graduate courses for graduate credit and to remain in the Accelerated Master of Science Program.
If the above undergraduate CGPA and graduate course grade conditions are not met, the student will be required to leave the Accelerated Master of Science Program. When a student leaves the Program (for any reason), the graduate courses taken as undergraduate electives (that were intended to be dual-counted) will be applied only to the bachelor degree and cannot be used for graduate credit.
The 6 credits of Master鈥檚 level graduated courses completed while the student on the Accelerated Master of Science program may count towards the MSc program degree requirements provided that the student enrolls on the MSc program in the semester immediately following the award of her/his bachelor degree.
A student who leaves the Accelerated Master of Science program will not be allowed to join again.
Acceptance on the Accelerated Master of Science Program does not constitute or guarantee admissions to the intended Master program. Students must submit a separate application and meet all the Master鈥檚 admission requirements, including the completion of the Bachelor鈥檚 degree, before being admitted as graduate students.
