Biography

Mr. Manideep Pabba is a PhD researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University, specializing in advanced membrane technologies and innovative bioreactor design. With over five years of research experience in biochemical engineering and separation technologies, his work focuses on developing next-generation bioprocessing platforms for sustainable applications.

His current doctoral research centers on the development of a novel membrane-integrated bioreactor system for the production and selective separation of microbial milk fats using precision fermentation. His expertise spans membrane synthesis, including ultrafine hollow fiber membranes for hemodialysis, nanoparticle-based functional materials, and membrane-based bioreactors for applications in cowless milk and alternative protein production.

Pabba holds a B.Tech in Biotechnology and an M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology. Notably, while his formal academic background is in biotechnology, his extensive research experience has been in chemical engineering offering a rare interdisciplinary perspective that bridges biological insight with engineering precision. This unique blend enables him to translate biological systems into scalable engineering solutions, particularly in the fields of membrane science and bioprocess intensification.

He has authored 7+ peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and is the inventor on three patents, including technologies for reusable N95 masks and ultrafine hollow fiber membranes.

Mr. Pabba has served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate Chemical Reaction Engineering, and has mentored over 9 undergraduate and postgraduate students for their research dissertations. His academic excellence has been recognized with four national-level awards and seven best paper/conference awards.

He is a member of the Indian Membrane Society, and is deeply committed to advancing research at the interface of material science and bioprocess engineering. His long-term vision is to contribute to sustainable and scalable biomanufacturing solutions in food, health, and water sectors.
