Dr. Thanigaivelan Arumugham is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Membranes and Advanced Water Technology (CMAT), Chemical & Petroleum Engineering Department, Khalifa University, UAE, with over 10 years of research experience in membrane technology for water reclamation and desalination. He holds a Ph.D. in Membrane Technology, and his research focuses on the development of polymeric and ceramic membranes using (nano)composite materials for applications such as water purification, wastewater treatment, and desalination, as well as brine management through “waste-to-wealth” approaches. Prior to joining Khalifa University, he was awarded a prestigious research grant under the Young Scientist Scheme by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. Dr. Arumugham has published 33 + journal articles, 3 + book chapters, and 1 + patent, with over 1,800 + citations and an h-index of 24. He actively mentors young researchers and fosters international research collaborations. He was also recognized with Khalifa University’s Excellence in Laboratory Safety Award in Spring 2023 and Fall 2024.
