Biography

Dr. Hathi's research focuses on microbiology, microbial ecology, microbial genomics, and biotechnology. Dr. Hathi completed his Ph.D. in 2022 from the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong.

From 2023 to 2025, Dr. Hathi conducted research at Khalifa University on microbial fermentation processes for the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and microbial milk. Since 2026, he has been involved in an ADNOC-sponsored petroleum engineering project investigating the microbial ecology of oilfield reservoirs, with a focus on microbial diversity, community dynamics, and the functional roles of microorganisms in subsurface petroleum systems. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and patents in microbiology, biotechnology, and microbial ecology.
