H.E. Mohammed Marzooq Al Shehhi is the Vice President for Administration, Facilities and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU). In this capacity, he leads one of the University’s largest operational divisions, overseeing six interconnected functions, Facilities Management, Space and Projects Planning, EHS, Administration, Campus Access and Mobility, and Leasing Operations, with a team of more than 180 professionals serving both the Main and Sas Al Nakhl campuses.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Support Services, H.E. His mandate covers the full spectrum of campus stewardship: master planning and capital project governance, smart facility operations, sustainability and energy optimization, health and safety compliance, transportation and parking infrastructure, and the commercial development of University assets. Under his leadership, the Division advances KU’s strategic priorities of Outstanding Student Experience and Operational Excellence by translating institutional objectives into measurable performance targets, audited management systems, and disciplined capital execution.

H.E. Al Shehhi has been instrumental in establishing the Division’s Integrated Management System aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards, and in introducing a structured KPI cascade that links departmental performance to institutional outcomes. He has championed the modernization of the University’s facilities ecosystem through the procurement of an enterprise-grade Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) platform, the multi-phase expansion of campus parking infrastructure, and the formalization of a new Leasing Operations function designed to unlock value from KU’s real estate portfolio. He also oversees the University’s contractual interface with key strategic partners, including ADNOC and Khalifa University Enterprises Company Limited (KUEC).

Prior to his current appointment, H.E. Al Shehhi accumulated extensive leadership experience in facilities, administration, and operational governance within the UAE’s higher education and public sectors, where he built a track record for delivering large-scale infrastructure programs, embedding compliance frameworks, and developing high-performing national talent. He combines deep technical knowledge of facilities engineering and EHS regulation with a pragmatic, data-driven approach to decision-making.
A strong advocate for innovation in campus operations, H.E. Al Shehhi continues to drive the integration of digital tools, automation, and sustainability practices across KU’s estate, ensuring that the University’s infrastructure remains fit for purpose, future-ready, and aligned with the UAE’s national agenda for a knowledge-based, sustainable economy.
